Nicki Minaj has revealed that she also won’t be returning to American Idol.

The rapper has been feuding with co-judge Mariah Carey throughout the entire twelfth season of the TV singing competition.

Apparently the two divas simply could not cease catfighting due to diametrically opposed views.

Mariah confirmed on Twitter she was abandoning her post on the programme. Just two hours later Nicki did the same.

‘Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn”t trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!! Mmmuuuaahhh!!! (sic)’ Nicki wrote to her over 16 million followers.

The star released her last album Roman Reloaded in spring 2012.

American Idol producers at Fox, FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment are supportive of her choice to concentrate on other professional endeavours.

‘Nicki Minaj is a superstar who brought a level of honesty and passion to American Idol and who had a tremendous positive impact on so many contestants this season,’ executives released in a joint statement. ‘Given her extremely busy career, we understand and respect her decision and wish her the best.’

It has been reported that American Idol has suffered a dismal decline in ratings with figures down 20 per cent year on year.

Three out of the four judges have bowed out of the forthcoming season.

Now that Nicki, Mariah and Randy Jackson have confirmed their departure, Keith Urban is the last remaining judge who has not announced his future plans.

Katy Perry and her ex-boyfriend John Mayer may have reignited their passionate romance.

The musicians broke up for the second time in March after dating on-and-off since last summer.

Apparently John was one of the guests at Katy’s Memorial Day barbecue held at her Hollywood Hills home on Monday.

The former flames’ flirtatiousness was obvious to partygoers.

“They seem to be back together — or back together-ish,” an onlooker told Us Weekly magazine. “They were very flirty and having a really good time together. They have good chemistry.

Another insider noted ‘they were definitely friendly’ at the bash.

In recent weeks Katy has been romantically linked to Los Angeles based entertainment agent Michael Kives.

Although it is rumoured Michael wants to pursue something serious with Katy, the star reportedly can’t get over John.

‘She is still calling John because she can’t let go. And he still reaches out to her too because he loves to string his exes along,’ an insider told Star magazine recently.

Notorious lothario John was apparently worried about how fast his relationship with Katy was going. He had met her parents and there were even reports the couple were planning to get engaged.

Katy was previously married to British comedian Russell Brand, but they officially divorced in February 2012.

John has dated a string of famous beauties including Jessica Simpson, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Aniston.

Kelly Osbourne regards Lady Gaga as ‘a great big hypocrite’.

The Fashion Police TV presenter and the Born This Way singer engaged in a Twitter feud last year.

The hostility arose after Kelly poked fun of Gaga for wearing a burka at London Fashion Week during an appearance on UK television show Alan Carr: Chatty Man.

Gaga’s fans inundated Kelly with cruel taunts and death threats. Kelly’s mother Sharon got involved and wrote Gaga’s manager an email asking him to step in.

Gaga responded with her open letter to Kelly, calling for her to be a better role model and blaming her for ‘breeding negativity’ on Fashion Police.

Kelly reveals her view of Gaga remains unfavourable following the conflict.

“I loved Lady Gaga. I totally believed in everything she stood for, until I realised she”s a great big hypocrite. Don”t say, ”When you see bullying, intervene,” while letting your fans send me death threats. If my fans did that, I would not stand for it,’ she told the June issue of Cosmopolitan magazine.

Gaga is the founder of the Born This Way Foundation, an anti-bullying charity.

Kelly is convinced the musician is fuelled by self-interest.

‘You can say whatever you want with your millions of monsters. I know the truth,’ Kelly said.

‘Your bells and whistles mean nothing to me. You”re feeding on the freaks and geeks to further your career? Do you really care about the gay community? Because if you did, you”d stand up for it more than you do.”

Kelly Clarkson has reportedly requested wedding guests clear their calendar for her autumn nuptials.

The 31-year-old American Idol winner is set to tie the knot with her fiancé, talent manager Brandon Blackstock.

According to Radar Online, Kelly sent out invitations via the internet confirming she will marry Brandon in Nashville, Tennessee on October 20.

Formal invitations have apparently not yet been sent.

The pretty pop star has been dating Brandon since February last year and announced their engagement in December.

Blake Shelton will officiate the ceremony.

Last month, just after her birthday on April 24th, Kelly gushed about how in love she is with her future husband.

She also discussed what she has planned for the rest of 2013.

“I woke up to sunflowers and a red velvet cake that my baby made me,’ the star wrote on her WhoSay account. ‘I’m so in love I’m annoying myself ha! Today is my 31st birthday! I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life and my career has never been stronger.

Usher doesn’t consider Justin Bieber’s behaviour as “negative”.

The 19-year-old superstar has been the subject of a number of damning headlines of late, including being accused of reckless driving and turning up late for scheduled shows.

Usher – who signed Justin to his Raymond Braun Media Group in the early days of his career – isn’t worried by Justin’s conduct and puts it down to immaturity.

‘I think all of us, in some way, have humble beginnings that pan out to be incredible and we hope that in his transition, as friends and family who have helped him be who he is, that he’ll continue to just mature,’ he told Ellen in a taping for Tuesday’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

‘In this [day and] age of social media, there is no privacy and that kind of trial and elimination period is kind of done in front of a camera. Many other celebrities are a product of it and some come out bad and some come out good. I am hoping for the best. I don’t look at as a negative though, I look at it as a teenager – he’s a teenager having to live his life in front of a camera. Imagine if you had to do that as a teenager.’

Justin is managed by Scooter Braun, who co-owns Raymond Braun Media Group alongside Usher.

The R&B superstar says the pair try and keep the Canadian pop star on the right track.

‘We talk as much as possible. I mean, me [and Justin's manager] Scooter [Braun], we stay in contact,’ he said.

Katy Perry has reportedly struck up a romance with an agent.

The popstar is said to be dating Los Angeles based entertainment agent Michael Kives.

Sources have revealed that Katy and Michael have moved things on from being just friends following her split from John Mayer earlier this year.

‘Katy and Michael have been hooking up. They were friends first, but Katy leaned on Michael for emotional support after her break-up with John,” an insider told America’s Star magazine.

“It’s more of a sexual thing for her rather than a heavy-duty relationship.’

Katy sees things with Michael as a rebound relationship and has allegedly told him she isn’t ready to settle down.

Michael, on the other hand, is said to be hoping that Katy will eventually want something more from the romance.

‘Michael is having a blast with her. He’s been bragging to all his friends about Katy, and he’s holding out hope that she will want to get serious,” they continued.

“He would love for her to be The One.’

It may be a while before Katy fully commits to Michael. The Firework singer reportedly still has feelings for musician John and has been calling him to talk about her feelings.

Britney Spears’ wellbeing is ‘a concern’ to those close to the star if she lands a Las Vegas residency, it has been reported.

According to a source, the singer is currently preparing for her shows at Planet Hollywood Resort and an unspecified casino.

However, considering her past mental health problems, Britney’s team and family are worried the mother-of-two could crumble under the pressure.

‘There is little chance that she can do actually do this. The stress of a daily public appearance and the physical nature of a show could overwhelm her for sure,’ a source connected to the star told FOX411′s Pop Tarts column. ‘As the show comes closer, she may start to fall apart. It’s definitely a concern.’

Britney suffered a breakdown in 2008 and was subsequently placed under the conservatorship of her father, Jamie Spears.

While she has made a successful return to showbiz with a hit tour in 2009 and a stint as a The X Factor US judge in 2012, the pop star’s lifestyle is micro-managed by her parent and work commitments are reportedly contracted to allow for special requirements.

‘Britney has been living a relatively laidback life recently, and these concerts are back-to-back and very intense,’ celebrity psychotherapist Stacy Kaiser commented. ‘There is a good chance the pressure to perform regularly and the distance from her support system can send her into a spiral.’

Meanwhile, Britney herself has revealed she is hitting the gym shape up for her time in Sin City.

‘The [Vegas] performances won’t be simple ‘ they’ll be a massive party from start to finish,” the pop princess told the American edition of Shape magazine. “And to pull this off, I have to be in top condition and running at full speed.’

Ellie Goulding has today announced she will play a tour of the UK in October.

The tour, which takes in seven cities including a London show at Hammersmith Apollo, marks a welcome return to UK venues for Ellie who has spent much of 2013 touring internationally.

Goulding’s second album ‘Halcyon’ was released in September last year and has already achieved platinum status in the UK.

The Hereford-born singer-songwriter – who recently featured on the Calvin Harris top 5 hit ‘I Need Your Love’ – has now achieved total worldwide album sales of three million with single sales topping ten million.

Madonna apparently sent a chaperone to accompany her daughter on a date.

It was recently claimed that the singer is finding it difficult to accept that her 16-year-old daughter Lourdes is growing up and is unhappy about her having a boyfriend.

Lourdes is currently dating Homeland actor Timothée Chalamet and it seems Madonna has finally allowed the teenager to spend time with him without parental supervision. However, the star wanted to make sure the date went smoothly, so sent along one of her bodyguards.

“The Material Girl sent a burly chaperone to keep a very close eye on the young couple,” reports New York Post.

Lourdes and Timothée, who attend the same New York performing arts school, were spotted at Brother Jimmy’s BBQ restaurant on Saturday night.

As the couple enjoyed each other’s company at a corner table, the minder sat at another table and “never took his eyes off of them”.

‘They were leaning close together to talk before food came. He was making her laugh a lot,’ a source revealed.

During the evening, 17-year-old Timothée was seen reaching for Lourdes’ hand as they flirted.

The teenagers split the $51 bill, before the bodyguard accompanied them both into a chauffeured car.

Madonna recently spoke out about Lourdes – whose father is personal trainer Carlos Leon – entering the dating scene.
“She has a very nice boyfriend,” she told Extra with a smile.

Madonna, 54, is renowned for being a hard-line mother. Despite her celebrity status she doesn’t spoil her four kids, making them clean up after themselves and monitoring their homework and wardrobe choices.

It was recently reported the star is just as determined to make sure her daughter’s relationship doesn’t go too fast.

“All Madonna cares about is her daughter and she is fiercely protective. There are strictly no sleepovers allowed, and she always tries to keep tabs on them, which sometimes drives them both a bit mad,” a source said.
